To White Pass Families and Staff,
Today, Governor Inslee has ordered that all K - 12 staff in the state will have to be fully vaccinated or obtain a medical or religious exemption by October 18, 2021 in order to maintain their employment. This order is for all staff including coaches, volunteers and anyone who might be under contract with the school district.
This order Does Not include, involve, or apply to students.
This order by Governor Inslee is a mandate for all public and private schools in the state and is NOT a decision by the White Pass School District.
There will be two exemptions allowed for employees who choose not to be vaccinated, religious and medical. Currently, the Washington State Attorney General is working to develop the form and process to be used for exemptions.
The district will work with all staff either through one of the exemptions available or in meeting the vaccination requirements.
We know this is a difficult and arduous journey through the COVID-19 pandemic. We commit to our community to continue to do our best to support and educate our students through this process and throughout the year.
