This is Ben from Inspirit AI, the interdisciplinary tech program for middle and high school students taught by MIT and Stanford grad students.
As artificial intelligence continues to transform our daily lives, space exploration in particular has become more innovative than ever before! The Inspirit team is excited to launch our new track, AI +Astronomy: Planet Hunters - Searching for Exoplanets with AI. In this project, students will use data collected from NASA’s Kepler space telescope to train AI models and detect exoplanets, which could help discover alien life!
Our instructors come from a multitude of relevant backgrounds, with experience in disciplines like Astrophysics and Electrical Engineering. You can check out some of their work and passion projects here.
As applications for our summer program close on May 20th, I invite your students of all disciplines to apply at this link. Whether they’re interested in AI+Astronomy or our other project domains, students will gain an invaluable learning experience that combines technology education with social impact (no programming experience required).
I’ve included a program blurb below that I would appreciate if you could share with your students from grades 5-12.
