COVID-19 Positive Case in High School

Along with many areas around the state, Lewis County is experiencing an expanding outbreak of respiratory illness caused by a novel coronavirus (COVID-19). This virus can spread from person-to-person, and the number of detected cases is growing. White Pass School District has identified two cases. Both employees are now quarantining. Immediately after being notified of the positive results, the district took the following steps.

·       The Lewis County Health Department was notified of the positive COVID-19 case.

·       The Positive Employee was placed in quarantined status for ten days.

·       Any Employee in close contact with the Positive Employee was placed in Quarantine status for ten days.

·       All students affected were called, screened, and provided care instructions provided by the Lewis County Health Department.

·       Classrooms received a deep clean and sanitization.

·       We are communicating with the Health Department and following any additional recommendations.

The district will continue to monitor and respond quickly to anymore reported cases. The district will continue its preventive measures to keep COVID-19 out of our schools. The learning environment is safe, and students can return to school on Monday.
