Dear White Pass Families,
Yesterday morning one of our staff members was informed by law enforcement that a threat had been made towards them. Out of an abundance of caution, yesterday and today, the elementary and the Jr/Sr high was placed in a passive lockdown, which is part of our safety protocols.
The person who had made the threat was not local, however, wanting to be cautious we went into a passive lockdown.
The internal doors at the elementary are always locked. During a passive lockdown all of the external doors in the district are locked. This includes the Jr/Sr high as well as the district office.
I understand that this has caused concern, especially considering how rare this event is. Please contact the district office if you have further questions.
We will update this information on Sunday evening if there is a need to continue a passive lockdown.
